BMW MUSEUM, MUNICH: CENTRAL SPACE

Museum design: ART+COM, Berlin

Architect: ATB Atelier Brückner, Stuttgart

Audio design: IDEE UND KLANG, Basel

Professional electroacoustic planning: STRAUSS ELEKTROAKUSTIK, Bern

The audio design of the BMW MUSEUM is an acousmatic sound installation. Around 1,000 largely invisible loudspeakers were distributed in such a way that in combination with an electroacoustic control system and suitable musical compositions, prearranged acoustic spatial and movement impressions can be created. Various different loudspeaker types are used: SE line sources, SE point sources, SE dipole sources, bending wave radiators and soundbeams.
